Summary
Explaining a wedding gift he is sending and explaining that it will not arrive before her wedding; reminding her of a conversation they had "...last year about the fair Spanish bride who is said to have been the first to bring orange-flower into fashion? Will the bride of Denmark Hill pay us great a complement to the Venetian imitation of the [illegible] emblem? which being of more durable materials is a fitter representation of the happiness which an old antiquary hereabouts most cordially wishes her. Your cousin's notice of the event, did not reach me until a very few days ago, and altho' Tom did his best to speed the growth of the Murano enamel it has only this moment blossomed. It would be selfish to hope it may arrive in wedding-time, as that would imply the wish to delay your happiness, and moreover as my congratulations are not momentary, and will but last the honey-moon, I trust you will not reject them, however late they may arrive, and as you will have so many pleasant occupations that it would be importunate or rather inopportune to subject you to the reading of any thing I could write, I will but beg Miss Agnew or Mrs. Severn almost to believe in the very sincere affection of her friend."
