Summary
Thanking him for his note and the notice of the "wonderful young man. It is in today's Scotsman & I hope to get an original notice in tomorrow's. It is a great loss 'dead ere his prime' - a Baker's son in Cumberland...getting himself wakened every morning at 4 by his father's journeyman - I never thanked you for the great pleasure your new poems gave me - Could you let me have two more copies...How is Mr. Sine Qua Non? & how is Jowett - the Sine Quo;" adding, in a postscript, I send you a poem in the Scotsman by a friend of mine - there is a fine flavour in it - a little languid as women's poetry should be unless they are wild with passion - like poor old Sappho."
