Notes
The donor chose to divide his collection to pay homage both to the country of his birth, Russia, and his adopted country, the United States, and to promote U.S.-Soviet relations; he chose the Morgan Library because J.P. Morgan Jr. had helped him attain his engineering degree.
The originals of items 2, 46, and 82 were returned to the donor and photocopies were retained by the Library.

Group 1 (originals in the Historical Museum-Archives/State Museum of the Revolution): orders to the third cavalry corps to retreat after the first field battle of the Russian Civil War before Pulkovo, 30 October 1917, written in a field book by Gregory P. Tschebotarioff, dictated and signed by General P. N. Krassnov.
