Part of a collection of Letters of Cobden-Sanderson purchased in 1956 and not previously accessioned with that collection (see MA 1754).
Printed on the letterhead of the Cobden Club with its seal and the motto within it "Free Trade - Peace - Goodwill Among Nations" and with the address of "Linbank, / Shortlands, / Kent."

Summary
Being an autograph note written in the upper left corner of a printed announcement of a "Special Cobden Dinner" to celebrate the Fiftieth Anniversary of the Repeal of the Corn Laws expressing the wish of the Committee that she and Mr. Cobden-Sanderson will attend the dinner; stating on the printed announcement that "...an Address will be Presented to the Right Honourable Charles Pelham Villiers, M.P., the sole survivor of the four Statesmen - Peel, Villiers, Cobden, and Bright, to whom the passing of the Measure was mainly due."
