Saying, "In pursuance to what you wrote me concerning Captain Hans Abel and the company he can recruit, I would like to inform you that, in consideration of his good services in the past, I would like to satisfy his demand; however, since I cannot assure him of payment at the present time, I would like to give him the commission for the company, or if, by chance, you could employ him on one of the battle ships under your command, I would be very pleased."
