Acknowledging a letter written to him by his cousin, (Rebecca Littlejohn) on the occasion of his fiftieth anniversary as the resident caretaker of George Washington's home at Mount Vernon; expressing the great satisfaction he has taken over the years in his work, his happiness at receiving Mrs. Littlejohn as a visitor at Mount Vernon, in the company of her "Cousin Lizzie", and urging her to inform him the next time she visits her cousin so that he might drive over to see them.
