Summary
Informing him that he will receive a copy of the The Atlantic Telegraph Company's Report to shareholders, expressing his regret at the omission of Rice's name as one of the company's American directors, and explaining that in accordance with English law, all directors must own "at least, one share of £1,000.0.0", and they were therefore "unable to put you in nomination on the present occasion"; expressing his hope that they may "erelong have the pleasure of enrolling" Field as a shareholder.
