Letters to Lord Charles and Lady Beresford, chiefly from various British naval captains and officials writing from London and locations in Egypt concerning the progress of the Anglo-Egyptian War, the bombardment of Alexandria, Lord Beresford's role in the campaign as commander of the HMS Condor, the relief expedition to Khartoum, naval business and news of mutual acquaintances, politics, etc.; also included is a single brief letter written by Lord Charles Beresford to Mr. Wolseley, 1886 October 2, declining an invitation (MA 13315.5).
