Summary
Writing to engraver, printseller, and framer Thomas Macdonald, and informing him that he called on him last "night and the night before" as Mr. (David) Wilkie wants "the Drawing of the Highlander before the Justice and requested me to bring it this morning"; recommending that Macdonald take it to Wilkie that day, as "I think he wants to do a picture from it"; asking to have the portrait of his wife returned to him as he "cannot think of it being out of my own house", adding that he will "allow the sketch" and that he cares "but little for the frame only give me my picture in the course of this week or I will never do any thing more for you."
