Summary
Explaining that he would have responded sooner to the recipient's request fo information regarding his work, but he has been abroad in Germany and will be leaving Hamburg for New York tomorrow; recounting his current writing projects, including his planned publication of the second volume of his novel The fifth queen on October 1, 1907; the expected publication of the third volume of his trilogy on modern England, of which The Heart of the country was the second volume; noting that his publisher (Alston) rivers will be republishing a volume of his selected verse, and that he will be publishing a book of fairytales; complaining of the heat and biting insects in Westphalia, discussing his family's local newspaper and observing that it chiefly consists of extracts from the Daily mail "to prove that Great Britain hates ... the inhabitants of Westphalia in general of Münster in particular"; remarking on the ugliness of Westphalia.
