Summary
Writing that he has heard from "Miss Maurice" and Richard Cavendish that Mr. Hare has continued to suffer greatly from severe illness, that he had intended to visit him upon his arrival (at Worthing), but that he has been prevented from doing so by a severe cold, and has been obliged to "nurse" himself so that he may prepare for an upcoming exhibition; expressing his hope that he might see Mr. Hare in London, where he hopes that he may find relief; adding that he would have liked to have shown him his pictures, especially one that is a view of the South Downs from Lancing, noting "Mr. Cavendish dwelt upon it much longer than upon the others, & we talked of you the whole time."
