Summary
Thanking him for a pamphlet and asking Young's permission to add a summary of it in the next edition of his book; requesting, so that he may "render every justice in my power to your late father's memory", a copy of a commission report dated December 15, 1700, and adding that he "may be able to bring forward some important points which may have escaped your notice."; stating that he is hard at work on a history of St. Domingo (i.e. his An historical survey of the French colony in the island of St. Domingo. London : Printed for John Stockdale, 1797) and asking Young if he would be willing to read over the proofs of the book as they are completed by the printer; concluding with a reference to an execution (probably the torture and execution of rebels in St. Domingo, witnessed by Edwards during his visit to the colony, which took place following the rebellion of 1791), regarding which "the facts that I have collected exceed any that I have met with in the history of human depravity."
