Writing upon her return home, having foregone various visits to friends in England owing to the recovery of her brother (William Edgeworth) from a prolonged illness; describing how fully and vividly she has recounted her visit to France and Switzerland to her friends and family, and how familiar, in consequence, Madame Achard and her family have become to them all as a result; noting with satisfaction how happily she and her two younger sisters Fanny and Harriet have settled back into their familiar home after their return from abroad.
