Summary
Concerning the recipient's request for assistance in pressing a claim for compensation from the Egyptian government; explaining that he does not believe that Pennell will be able to press his case without supporting documentation, as "Reghit Pasha is no longer a Minister; and having once resigned, it seems to me that it would be difficult for you to revive a claim in reference to the office this vacated."; asking if he has been in communication with the current Prime Minister, Cherif Pasha, or if he has any friends with whom Lord Dufferin could consult on Pennell's case, informing the recipient that he does not see his way to "making a proposition to the Egyptian Government", as he suggests, and enclosing a note to be forwarded to Madame Hendrikoff.
