Summary
Explaining that he was at Chiswick on Saturday and did not, therefore, receive Taylor's note in time to answer him; regretting that he could not accompany him to Weybridge owing to a previous dinner engagement, and asking if he would like to come with him to hear "Newman" (presumably a reference to a lecture by the theologian John Henry Newman) on Thursday or Friday.
