Summary
Apologizing for not having responded sooner (because of illness) to his request for a letter allowing him to visit "le salon que j'ai decore" (probably the Salon du Roi, which Delacroix painted in the Chambre des Deputes); expressing his appreciation for Visconti's sincere compliments, which are different, he notes, from the routine ones he has received from so many others.
