Summary
Informing him that he and his traveling companion, Mr. (Coventry) Patmore, will be leaving Florence on their return to England at 2 o'clock that day, and will therefore be unable to see him again before their departure; expressing his great pleasure at making his acquaintance and his admiration for Landor's work, informing him that he expects to see their "common friend" Robert Browning in London at the Athenaeum, and remarking that he wishes he could give Browning a better account of Landor's health, reflecting that "in old age, with all its infirmities, we advance, (let us hope it) 'in leni aura', towards the gates of perpetual youth"; enclosing a photograph of a painting by Angelico da Fiesole, remarking that he had meant to give it to "a young Lady in England: but an old poet is much more worthy of it."
