Acknowledging a note expressing the recipient's satisfaction with a "little picture" purchased from Danby, and hoping that his "pleasure may increase on long acquaintance" with it; informing him that he has received his invitation to visit too late to accept, remarking that he should stay at home and "make the most" of his time, and telling the recipient that he called upon him in the autumn but that he was not at home; confirming that he has received the second payment of £5 for the picture and that the payment of £10 for the piece has been settled in full.
