Returning a prompt book of Twelfth night, and explaining that he cannot see his way "to a satisfactory arrangement of the play in correspondence with your idea"; stating that the adaptation contains too many drastic changes and transpositions, some of which may appear good on the page, but do not work in practice, and that he would like to see Flowers when he is in town, as he has "an idea which I think will meet with your approval-one which would be practically and I believe profitably carried out."
