Writing in response to a request made by Admiral Cunningham on behalf of Edward Rogers and confirming that he would be most willing to assist in advancing Rogers should the opportunity arise to do so; stating, however, that he is unable to oblige Cunningham's request that his relative, Mr. Charles Proby, by placed as a midshipman, as all the midshipmen in his ship and on his station have been long since appointed.
