Summary
Thanking her for a letter and informing her that he has returned from a "the great convention" [i.e., the Anti-Slavery Society Convention of1840]; noting that he has been very busy, but that he hopes to travel towards Bury in the company of Mrs. Clarkson in a few weeks, and that they intend to make a special effort to call on her and "Sir Henry" at Barton; informing her that [Benjamin Robert] Haydon, "the historical painter", is making a picture of the convention, with one-hundred and eighty portraits included in the painting, and that he believes a print is to be made of it.
