Explaining that she had delayed answering his last letter owing to her hope that he would announce his intentions of publishing a further series of papers on Shakespeare; expressing her fear that this will not prove to be the case, as he had promised to send her "copies of all such papers when they appeared"; stating that her interest was particularly excited by his announcement that the new series "was to be the means of 'introducing a new writer on the Sonnets'", and asking if the new writer referred to has "put forth his papers in any other form than the one proposed", as her husband yesterday received a book subtitled An introduction to the philosophy of Shakespeare's, by Richard Simpson; thanking him for helping her acquire a copy of Mr. [Samuel] Neil's biography of Shakespeare.
