Lamenting that he has been so busy, "burried in papers I am now printing, runing from booksellers to booksellers, cursing a thousand people that call upon me"; explaining that the bearer of the letter, his cousin Mr. Feron, will be taking his place at Beccles during his absence, and requesting that Dr. Davey assist Feron"in many little things he may be a stranger to"; saying that he is very ill, but that he hopes that, by next summer, Dr. Davey "will make of me one of the strongest man in England".
