Stating that, as he has never read anything written by Madame Blaze de Bury, he cannot agree to publish the article she proposes, but would be glad to read the article with the "view to its insertion if forwarded to me"; informing him that he received a letter from Miss [Harriet] Martineau yesterday and that she is "surely getting worse", adding, "She still interests herself much in literary matters, but her powers are lessening and she is gradually doing less & less."
