James Etty) to assure that a benefice be preferred upon him, i.e.: "In order that the young Clergyman, whom I took the liberty of recommending to your Lordship, might take advantage of your goodness to him - Dr. Stebbing has this day in due form resigned the Rectory of Whitchurch. The bishop of Oxford, who does everything to facilitate & expedite the Business, will hold a private ordination on the thirteenth of October to put Mr. Etty into Priests order & to institute him to the Cure ..."
