Summary
Writing to acknowledge some letters she has received from him and his "justly valued friend", Dr. [John] Warner; expressing her appreciation for the latter's kind words of regard for her deceased father, her reaction to the revolution in France, including her heartfelt sympathy for the cause of freedom as well as her misgivings at the irreligious precepts of the revolutionaries; her pleasure at learning that Miss [Anna] Seward has added her name to the list of subscribers for her book (i.e. Reliques of Irish poetry, published in London by George Bonham, 1789); questions regarding the status of her father's works; asking that he send her the names of any additional subscribers for her own book, which is "within a fortnight of being out of press", and requesting advice on the best means of getting the books to her subscribers and the number of copies she should send to London; expressing her belief that the current turbulent political climate in England has distracted potential subscribers from enlisting to purchase her book, and noting that she has reduced the number of copies required in her directions to the printer to 500.
