Expressing his concerns over the "Safety" affair and urging the recipient to "initiate something" to address the issue ("Either to amalgamate or to sell, or to infuse new vigour by having some new Directors"); noting that [Richard] Cobden would come if a meeting where held and "something might be determined upon"; stating that he does not like "to be in office as a director doing no work", and concluding "We are in an unpleasant position, but a little energy may get us out of it.".
