Summary
Concerning the arrival of "my Ld Lieutenant into England" after a "very dangerous passage" and the recipient's decision not to accompany him; repeats a joke concerning the Duke and Duchess of Dorset during a storm at sea; his unhappiness at the commencement of the season and the departure of his friends for the country; the rising of Parliament next week and his hopes that "they will pass such a judgement upon ye Abettors of yt detestable fraud of ye Charitable Corporation, as may deter others & put some stop to yt torrent of villainy & corruption so prevalent at present, yt we must otherwise be soon overwhelmed with [it]"; the "great Armament in Spain" and the government's lack of concern in the matter.
