Describing five packets sent to the recipient at Lord Granville Leveson Gower's in Staffordshire, and, having evidently received no confirmation of their arrival, expressing his apprehension that they either failed to reach the recipient or have proven unduly onerous to him, "In the latter case, if your Lordship will be pleased to give direction to your solicitor, to prosecute me, by a civil action in the law ... I am ready, with all contrition, to ley judgement go by default, paying costs and damages"; closing with a request that the recipient write to inform him as to whether or not the packets in question have reached his hands.
