Summary
Concerning Allen Tate's poetry; saying "I am afraid I must defend myself from the accusation of having cut in on you with regard to Tate's Poems. Tate wrote to me about the Poems, suggesting I might be interested, in January of this year and we have been in communication about them ever since. As Tate is one of our authors (we have published his only novel) I think any cutting in was probably done unconsciously by your firm."
