Summary
Expressing her gratitude for the "many many services you have rendered me;" saying that "The Princess of Bagdad" will have to be put off until another season, since "Carmen" is "such an enormous success everywhere & I shall only have the time to produce one more play before I sail for Europe;" writing that she plans to debut this new play in Pittsburgh, "as I feel sure the welcome you promise me would be good for the success of the play;" describing the new play as "from the Italian, strong & pulsating with love, & sorrow;" adding "I am in love with it but then that is no criterion because I am in love with all my plays;" writing that "Carmen" has created a furor in Chicago and business is good; confirming that her brother (probably a reference to Louis F. Nethersole) is in London arranging her season there and saying that she hopes to see Mr. Black often on his upcoming trip to London.
