Collection consists of: 35 autograph letters signed from John Masefield to John Skilton and Ernest Hillman (MA 4784.1-34, .54); 16 Christmas cards signed from Masefield to Skilton and Hillman (MA 4784.35-50); and 3 pamphlets (MA 4784.51-53) inscribed to Skilton and Hillman. Collection also includes 11 autograph letters signed from Masefield to Margaret Babington (MA 4784.55-65) and 3 pamphlets (MA 4784.66-68) inscribed to Margaret Babington. Most letters consist of greetings and thanks for books or articles sent, and hopes to get together soon. One letter (MA 4784.54) includes thoughts on the death of John F. Kennedy, and an autograph quotation from Masefield's poem on the occasion. Another (MA 4784.62), to Miss Babington, speculates on Shakespeare's pace of writing plays.
