Praising Ruskin's article "Poetry of Architecture" in London Architectural Magazine: "Your son is certainly the greatest natural genius that ever it has been my fortune to become acquainted with & I cannot but feel proud to think that at some future period when both you & I are under the turf, that it be stated in the literary history of your son's Life that the first article of his which was published, was in Loudon's Mag[azine] of Natl History," and noting that Ruskin "in a manner as unanswerable as any problem in Euclid" has demonstrated one of the Magazine's writers wrong on a point about perspective.
