Summary
Concerning the Turner Bequest, supporting Roberts in his opposition to the exhibition of paintings by Turner done in jest that he feels are unworthy of the artist. He calls the exhibition "a malignant attempt to stain the Hood of well earned applause," and notes that Turner's "love of the ridiculous often prompted him to be unmindful of public opinion."
