Summary
Saying that he has handed over to Robinot [art shipper] 38 paintings for which he has enclosed [with this letter] a carbon copy of a detailed list with titles for the catalog. He was sorry to see the paintings go, because he says that Rosenberg is taking his best works. He adds that there are about 70 paintings by him in the USA, including about 30 for the exhibition of the 8 Great Museums. He has located the 1925 painting signed Jeanneret [his real last name] at Miller's Company. He's happy that Rosenberg is taking charge of his paintings. Reynal and Hitchcock [a New York publishing house] is now printing the excellent book Space Beyond the Words about his [architectural] work. A special 110-page edition of L'Architecture d'aujourd'hui with photos is also being published. It is called "Synthèse des arts majeurs." It includes a few pages of innovative sculpture. He mentions Hastings [Hubert de Cronin Hastings?]. He thinks that it's a good time for his exhibition. The French delegation is intervening on his behalf at the UN about his part in the planning. He says that there's a bit of "gangsterism" from Harrison [Wallace K. Harrison, the head of the design team for the UN].
