Summary
Answering questions about seeds of a "silk-cotton tree;" saying "Your seeds are no doubt those of a species of 'Silk-cotton tree', Bombay, of which various species grow in India & Africa - though to which this belongs it is not easy to say without seeing the whole fruit - If you will kindly let us have the fruit I should be much obliged, as we have no specimens of the [illegible] species in our museum. I enclose seed of a W. African species, which you will see resembles the [illegible]. The silk is far too brittle to be of any use commercially as silk."
