"; mentioning the impossibility of a meeting with Mrs. Browning; reporting that Lady Hatherton had written that "Sir James [Kay Shuttleworth] had perhaps been one of Miss Brontë's most confidential friends, and had seen a great deal, comparatively speaking, of her after her marriage"; reporting on a visit to James Kay Shuttleworth during which "he was hardly able to speak of anything but Miss Brontë."
