Informing him that he has thought about the exhibition that Rosenberg is preparing, and it is impossible for him to participate in it as he would like. He therefore requests that Rosenberg not include any of his paintings in the exhibition. He thinks that Rosenberg would rather do this than enter into a discussion about it, now that Derain has made up his mind not to take part in the show. Derain is completely opposed to having any of his paintings exhibited without having chosen them himself.
