Summary
Denouncing "Two or Three scandalous Anonymus Rhapsodys ... written by Maevius the Scotch Dogrelist," in which he "makes bold with the names of several persons of merit;" declaring "Maevius is as much below a Beast, as a Beast is below a man" and elaborating on this topic; concluding "Thus, sir, have I sent you a short satire upon nothing, upon which a noble poet in King Charles His Time was pleasd to write a Panegyrick. I know you will have the goodness to excuse the Defects of a Trifle which was Intended to give you one moments Diversion."
