Summary
Concerning a legal matter involving a "Mr. L. W"; saying "If he persists in this obstinacy he will be the sufferer because either his sons commission must be recalled, or I shall leave him & Mrs. L.W. without a farthing of the maintenance money for the next two years. But the object of my writing to you now is to say that if you can manage to get a favorable report without touching upon the £40,000 it will be most desirable, but if this cannot be effected, then it will be desirable that the report should specify particularly the manner in which Mr. L.W. may if he pleases facilitate the object without loss or injury to himself or to any of his children - If I am not summoned sooner, I propose to be in London as usual on Thursday next, & shall be glad to see you in Duke St. about 11 o'clock if you can make it convenient to call about that time."
