Summary
Sending family news and detailing his writing projects; saying "It was lovely to see you, and your mother, & to have a few words with you. I wish that my loved ones could have been with me. They are all well and Mary is a joy, and so loved & liked by Robert. Mary is teething now so we have had some broken nights but that, I suppose, we must expect. She is crawling everywhere at great speed & saying such a lot of things to us. Robert, at 6 1/2, goes to the village school where, we think, he is a bit of a lad. He reads very well & is quick & eager at most things, but music seems to interest him most. He is thoroughly enjoying his Saturday mornings at the Royal College of Music. As for Jane, she is a [illegible], as ever. I do not know how she copes with us all. I plod on with lots of broadcasting & writing. I do hope that I can finish the big book about W.J. in 1962. I have worked so hard at it. I think I sent you the little book I did for The Bodley Head about him. If I did not, please let me know. I still miss him terribly. As, dear N, I know you do. I am seeing Dick early in January to talk about the proposed Collected Poems. We must come next year to see you. But can't you come & see us here one day? It would be so lovely for us. Please accept the enclosed with my dear love. I am glad that it is back in print & that I was responsible for it."
