Summary
Concerning the preparations for the trial of Queen Caroline; informing her of his likely arrival in London and his schedule "...to hold a consultation on Tuesday evening and another on Wednesday morning. We have had copies of all the examinations sent to us & they are extremely satisfactory - Indeed all that one sees is favorable - The effects of H.M's intention to attend in person & go in state, are every where extremely satisfactory - I believe the enemy is in considerable confusion - But from all I can learn, if he means to do or propose any thing before the 17th he will wait to the very last moment - probably late on Wednesday - and then perhaps move an adjournment over the Funeral - All I hear, however, is against any thing of the kind being attempted - nous verrons - In the mean time present my humble duty to H.M. & express my condolence on the Duchess of York's death - which I most sincerely lament - for she has not left a better person behind her."
