Summary
Concerning a reproduction of a Plate from Keramic Art of Japan; saying "The Art Journal has hit upon a new idea and is having 15,000 copies of Plate XVI in Keramic Art of Japan struck off to insert in the magazine. They write to me asking whether I could suggest anyone to write a notice of the work and I, of course, replied that you were the only man in the country who was master of the subject;" offering to answer any questions he may have if he consents to write the article; adding comments on a review in the Athenæum on the List of Marks & Monograms and the Native Report edited by Mr. Franks; adding that he distrusts the Report as the "...information it contains is obsolete and of slight service to the collector. What is good in it appears in K.A.J. - drawn from other and original sources."
