Summary
Thanking him for "such delicious experiences" on her visit to New York; saying "I shall never forget our morning among the sky-scrapers - clouds & clock-towers & steeples well below us - & that network of tiny cracks - the streets in the depths of which human beings crawled like insects - & the haunting indignity of becoming one of them after our descent - And the Metropolitan Insurance Company where someone dies every 40 seconds - & where we were applauded by 3000 eating women! That will never happen to us again. I am back again now - & so cosily re-ensconced in my old context that I can hardly believe I was ever out of it - & that all my strange - variegated kaleidoscopic memories arent just the fragments of a broken dream - But when these doubts as to the actuality of America & all it contains assail me - I hope so very much that you are true - & I believe you are;" adding, in a postscript, Father sends you many messages - I am so glad you said what you did about Panama."
