With autograph notes and word processor print-out instructions, and some of Kipling's poems on word processor print-out to be used in the play.
The play premiered in London in May 1984 and at the Royale Theatre, New York, October 10,1984, with Alec McCowen as Rudyard Kipling. A benefit performance took place in New York on 16 October 1984 for the Pierpont Morgan Library.
Housed with the six drafts of the play are eleven pages of autograph notes, a thirty-one page typescript of the Kipling poems used in the play and a 12-page word-processor print-out of text print runs. The entire collection is housed in nine separate folders.
