Summary
Two extracts, the first of which is a brief account of his journey to Rome in 1650 as companion to Philip Stanhope 2nd Earl of Chesterfield, then aged about seventeen; the second account concerns the death of Richard Crashaw in Rome, and Cardinal Palotta's attempt to protect him from servants whom he had denounced.
