Summary
Regarding a suit filed by her, concerning her only daughter, Alexandrine Jeanne Le Normand, 1743-1754. She has given Mr. Labourdonnois's report (Bertrand François Marie de la Bourdonnais, 1699-1753) to Mr. Mauchaud (Jean Baptiste de Machault d'Arnouville, 1701-1794), who will await more detailed information from the lawyer. Mme. de Pompadour is pessimistic about the outcome of the suit, but hopes that her daughter will retain her grandparents' fortune: "Win or lose, we will never have anything to reproach ourselves with, and money will never be able to ruin our happiness. This is always my way of thinking, and I hope you approve of it."
