Summary
Adding his support to Knight's plan to purchase Dove Cottage; saying "The thought is an admirable one; & when it is carried into effect all Wordsworth's admirers will have, (& I among them), a very serious additional pleasure in visiting the mountain land. Immediately on receiving the Pamphlet I wrote to Mr. Craik (Macmillans) saying that I should wish to subscribe £1 to the fund, having heard that it was thought best that the subscriptions should be small in order that a larger number of persons might thus take a part in the enterprize. I should suppose you will get a far larger sum than is needed for the scheme;" adding, in a postscript, I hope the new Edition of Wordsworth's poetry has a large circulation. I hope to write to you again on that subject soon."
