Summary
Praising his edition of Wordsworth's Letters and his "Through the Wordsworth Country", a copy of which was given to him by Mrs. William Wordsworth; saying "I had not remembered, well as I know W's poetry, with how many scenes in England's loveliest region it is associated;" anticipating the publication of his Life; relating, in a postscript, his visit to Coleorton with Ambrose de Lisle: saying "I looked on it, & especially on 'the Winter Garden' with reverence & delight. In one of the rooms of the Cistercian monastery built by de Lisle in Charnwood Forest, among many portraits, all of the rest of them of Saints, was one of Wordsworth. The Abbot told me that he had placed it there in gratitude for the spiritual benefits Wordsworth poetry had conferred on him in his youth."
