Summary
Concerning a possible publishing contract; saying "...I have for some time felt that the arrangements made by Messrs. Sonnenschein for our books are highly unsatisfactory. I tried to get Mr. Muirhead to promise on their behalf a certain sum of money down, say £30 or £40, but although he spoke vaguely of the possibility I could not get any definite promise. I quite agree with you that it is by no means pleasant to have to spend time & labour for so doubtful an advantage as the Publishers hold forth. If I can I will see either Wallace or Ritchie & ask them what they think on this subject. May I be allowed to ask whether you have definitely refused to undertake the work unless a more satisfactory agreement is entered into? I hope I shall see you when you come to Oxford."
